Doorway Pages – are pages that are stuffed with specific keywords/phrases and are programmed for specific search engines /spiders to index the stuffed words.  It is mostly purposed focus on those keywords that are mostly people will use to find you.  But when the real searchers access the page, he is then redirected to ANOTHER page.

Hallway Page – a page which all records of the website’s pages are linked to. The main purpose of this page is similar to sitemap which allows search engine crawlers to index all the website pages and doorway pages.

Black Hat SEO – Cloaking

Cloaking is a technique considered as Black Hat SEO. It deceives search engines and users by providing them different content. It tricks search engines by providing contents based on the user’s request query.

More over, it tricks user to enter the page because in the SERP, the description and title of the page is manipulated. This helps driving traffic to the site.

  • User-Agent Cloaking
  • HTTP_REFERER Header Cloaking
  • HTTP Accept-Language Header Cloaking

Stemming and Synonyms

Stemming – or Keyword Stemming is a great way in adding more hits and dense to your targeted keyword. The proces off stemming is by expanding the targeted keyword by adding a prefix, suffix, or pluralization to make the targeted keyword into a new word and insert it on the page.

Example:

Targeted keyword is program. The stem words will be programmer, programming, programmable, deprogram and more.

Synonyms – on the contrary, are different words added on the page that is synonymous on the targeted keyword.

Example:

Targeted keyword is advice. Synonyms are guide, help, tips.

Relevance and Importance

Relevance – how the site is relevant to the search query of the use.

Importance – a site with more inbound links is more important than a site with less inbound links.

Search Engine Saturation

The total number of pages being indexed by all search engines. This shows the effectiveness of the site in search engines

Example:

24 page indexed at google, 20 pages indexed at yahoo, 10 pages indexed at bing, and 25 pages indexed on other search engines is a total of 79 indexed pages.

Natural Links

Natural Links are links that references an archive or instance of content of an author. This links does not require reciprocal.

Example:

Links with anchors of read more, title of a news, articles that lands on the same site, and any local links.

Free For All or FFA

Also known as link farm is a site where anyone can add, share, distribute  unorganized and irrelevant links to their page. As a result, the page ends up filled with thousands of garbage spam links on any and all topics.

Google page title = 69 Characters (Including Spaces).

Google meta description = 156 Characters (Including Spaces).

Yahoo page title = up to 72 Characters (Including Spaces)  and  PDF’s up to 75 characters.

Yahoo meta description = up to 161 Characters (Including Spaces) .

Bing page title = 65 – 69 Characters (Including Spaces) .

Bing meta description = up to 150 -185 Characters (Including Spaces).

Ask page title = 69 Characters (Including Spaces) .

Ask meta description = up to 312 Characters (Including Spaces).

Bounce Rate

Bounce Rate or % Exit is the measure of a single-page visit then exits without going any further or viewing the sites other pages on a certain timeout.

Bounce Rate helps determine the effectiveness of an entry page. The higher the bounce rate means your entry page is not effective in driving visitors in to your site.

Formula:

N number of views exiting the page without viewing other pages * .001 * M number of page views
