In the old days, using Brightness/Contrast can damage an image by clipping its shadows or highlights. Also turning on the legacy check box clips the shadows or highlights details.
The better way of using the Brightness/Contrast adjusment is to turn off the legacy check box, then add values to Brightness inversely proportion to the Contrast values and vise verse.
